BRET GELLER
I’m Bret Geller, co-owner of Pet Biz Experts, and my lifelong passion for dogs has guided my journey. It all started with my first dog, ‘Spiral,’ a spirited Border Collie who sparked my interest in the sport of Flyball. For eight years, I dedicated myself to the sport, achieving two National Championships and contributing to world record-breaking times.
In 2013, Lianne and I opened a dog training business in San Diego, where I quickly found my passion for sales. Taking on the lead sales position, I streamlined and perfected the sales process, working closely with other trainers and serving notable clients, including NFL players, MLB players, US Team Olympic Athletes, as well as TV/movie writers and producers.
During the pandemic, I witnessed the resilience of the dog training industry, which proved to be fairly recession-proof. Reflecting on my journey, I realized the immense fulfillment and profitability this business can bring, wishing I had started training dogs professionally much sooner.
The labor-intensive nature of chasing new customers and managing existing ones led Lianne and I to establish Pet Biz Experts. By implementing our software within our own business, we experienced a remarkable 20% increase in sales within the first year, granting us more freedom and personal time.
With Pet Biz Experts, my mission is to empower dog trainers to achieve their business goals. I’m dedicated to providing the necessary tools and support they need to thrive in this industry. Drawing from my extensive experience and passion for excellence, I’m here to help fellow dog trainers unlock their full potential and achieve unparalleled success.
In addition to our work, my partner Lianne and I have a love for travel and dog sports. These journeys not only allow us to explore the world but also provide valuable opportunities to connect directly with our extensive network of dog trainer friends and clients. By immersing ourselves in the industry and fostering personal relationships, we continually enrich our knowledge and understanding, ensuring that we stay at the forefront of the dog training world.
LIANNE SHINTON
I’m Lianne Shinton, co-founder of Pet Biz Experts, and I’m here to empower pet-focused entrepreneurs like you. My mission is to enhance your visibility, boost conversions, drive business growth, and create more leisure time for you.
With over 31 years of experience in the pet industry, I’ve done it all. My passion for understanding canine behavior started at a young age, leading me to become a Certified Dog Trainer and open my own successful dog training business in Toronto. As my business expanded, I incorporated grooming, retail (pet food and supplies), and boarding services. Later, I ventured into franchising, helping a single location dog training company transform into a thriving franchise with 75+ locations.
In addition to my extensive background in the industry, I have a profound passion for competing in dog sports. I am proud to say that I have achieved multiple World and National Championships with my amazing dogs. I am also honored to have represented the US Team twice, competing in prestigious competitions in countries like Russia and Poland, where I showcased my skills and dedication on an international stage.
Today, at Pet Biz Experts, I bring my wealth of experience and knowledge to the table, driven by a deep commitment to supporting and serving pet-related businesses. In addition to our work, my partner Bret and I have a love for travel and dog sports. These journeys not only allow us to explore the world but also provide valuable opportunities to connect directly with our extensive network of dog trainer friends and clients, further enriching our understanding of the industry.
